Ive been thinking a lot about friends...all the Friends, the best friends I've had that I've lost, forgotten, drifted away from.
haley, sasha, nora. eden, calvin, mariana. eden(diff person)
do you remember?
haley, do you remember he time eden played dead on the trampoline, and we rolled her off? the day we first met, me on my brothers old bike, you with your new puppy, pepper?
do you remember the stories we played, Indians, farm girls, spies, giant town? do you remember the novel we were going to write? or the time e fought over the club we were going to make?
do you remember? i do.
sasha, do you remember? do you remember those days we hid in my closet from the t-Rex's of our imagination? or the games we played during recess? or the trinkets we'd trade, a bit of cloth for a bead, a note book for a box? do you remember the notes we would write, in our pretend cursive, the letters that were but lines and dots, as neither of us could read or write?
do you remember? i do.
nora, do you remember? do you remember the unicorns your mother would draw for us? or the time we went to fentons and made bets on how many pieces of gum we would get in our bubblegum icecream? do you remember the time that dog chased us, and we ran all the way down the hill in my yard, terrified?
do you remember? i do.
eden, do you remember? do you remember the time that we took my dads tools and hacked a way at that old cememt block wth the wood? or the time we built a mail box under our desks? or the times we played 'hamster on the loose' in my room?
do you remember? i do.
calvin, do you remember? do you remember the time we saw the first pokemon movie together, at your house, and i started to cry? do you remember playing 'land before time' in my yard? do you remember the games we played in preschool?you were my best friend. do you remember the pikachu pinata? and the time we went trick or treating, me as a frigde, you as a mad scientist?
do you remember? i do.
mariana, do you remember? do you remember the time we caught a ladybug in my yard? or the monday playdates we'd have every week? do you remember the barbies we'd trade? i can still see your old room in my memory.
i remember. do you?
eden, do you remember? do you remember the spy club we had, or the hidden compartment i found in your room? do you remember the magic tricks you taught me, and the ones i taught you? do you remember when you first came to my house to see my cats? do you remember those AWFUL cookies i made you, with honey? (i hope not!)
this was what i was thinking as i left the park this afternoon. i whish i could go back, to see them the way i did before. go back to the fun times we had. the play dates, the bakesales, the sleepovers and movies. the madlibbs and sicks and dolls and tv shows we loved.
none of you are reading this, are you? it doesn't matter. i wanted to say it. i miss you. i miss you all. im sorry for letting us drift so far apart.
the things you gave me i treasuer.
the pig from calvin, with the penny inside.
the clothe from sasha
the drawings from haley
the little toy bear from eden.
the photos from nora.
a dried bit of grass and a note from marianna.
the 'key' to our 'mail box' reminds me of eden.
i remember you, always.
justy wanted to post this! as mr. mike says, one of the most important words in this world is 'remember' i agree. i agree.

I loved reading your memories. I have similar ones of friends years ago - and also ones of you.... your toddler self telling me in the middle of the night when you were sleeping over and I was getting your bottle: "I want milk, not water." I couldn't believe you could talk so well at that age; of going out honking on New Year's Eve when you were little; of video taping all the fun things you and your brother did. You're a special kid, I mean, Young Woman!
